MYRC would like to provide an update regarding our service provision in relation to the current (CoronaVirus) situation. We are continuing to follow federal, state, local government advice and accordingly adapting our services as required. Safety for our staff and clients is our highest priority and has led us to suspend and adapt many of our programs.
Update of services at MYRCPrograms – We have suspended all programs that involve group participation, including Resi brunch, Girl’s Club and recreation afternoons.
Retail and hospitality courses – As we had a Retail Course in the process of taking applications we are going to continue taking referrals at this point and will re-evaluate the situation over the next week.
SMART recovery – At this stage we are looking to form online groups for smart recovery in line with the SMART recovery guidelines and will provide an update once this is in place.
School holiday program – We are also in the process of reorganising our school holiday program with competitions to encourage young people to keep active and entertained during this period from home. Once confirmed we will distribute the relevant information within our usual flyers and across our usual platforms.
Case work and counselling – MYRC will continue to take referrals for casework and counselling. Our focus will remain on supporting our community by providing advice and support during these challenging times. The preferred method of support will be via phone, email or video conferencing when possible. We do understand that some clients require face-to-face contact and therefore we are continuing to offer this for counselling and case work. Prior to anyone attending face-to-face appointments, we will check in with them to confirm they are well and not showing any flu symptoms or have been overseas recently.
Social media – Keeping updated – We will also begin to ramp up our social media presence on facebook and instagram. Feel free to give us a follow/like to stay up to date @MYRC2204
Hall hire – All hall hire services are suspended until further notice.
